Developer by training, 12 years marketer, today fully in AI.
Growing up, my parents ran a petrol station, a car wash, and a sandwich shop at the same time. I always saw people who worked hard and learned how to do things along the way.
At 14 I built a Dragon Ball Z fan forum/game in PHP. No tutorial, no budget, no one to ask. It worked. I kept building things after that.
After IT school I traveled for a while. Spent time in Thailand training Muay Thai, met someone doing SEO for Irish companies at Irish salary rates. Before I flew home, I had my first client signed, no-cure no-pay. He stayed for five years. I never really stopped freelancing after that. Not because I had a plan, but because the flexibility suited me and the results came.
Over twelve years the work evolved: web design, SEO, performance marketing, enterprise analytics, and now AI. Each step the same pattern: I saw something interesting, went deep on it, made it useful. I'm a certified Data Protection Officer for the same reason: I work with a lot of data and I wanted to actually understand the responsibility that comes with it.
Learning is a permanent thing for me. Books, audiobooks, podcasts, courses, seminars. If something catches my interest, I don't let go until I understand it properly.
Besides AI and code, I'm mostly a dad. Jade (3) is figuring out the world on her bike. Lucas (6 months) is discovering everything from his water mat. They're the reason I choose remote where possible and projects that give energy.
I've boxed for about ten years, with Muay Thai, BJJ, and Krav Maga in the mix. Motorcycles. Kettlebells. DJ'd for years. And I've gone through phases with some stranger hobbies: juggling, fire breathing, unicycling, Rubik's cubes. If it looked hard to learn, that was usually reason enough to try.

Certifications with a reason.
I don't collect certificates to fill a wall. Two of them say a lot about how I work today, the rest are tools I use every day.

Why
More and more I end up working with larger companies, and they run on Microsoft. I used to build around that ecosystem and plug my solutions into it. With Azure AI Foundry I can now deploy AI the way Microsoft intended: inside the client's own environment, with the security and governance that are already in place.

Why
Becoming a Data Protection Officer isn't the plan. But my work constantly touches (personal) data: tracking, CRM, AI agents reading customer data. I want to know exactly what is and isn't allowed, so I can think along with my clients and flag a problem before it becomes a real one.

Implementing AI is as much a change process for people as it is a technical one. I want to understand what moves people, so I can support clients on that side too.
